In what has become an annual party on February 2nd since 2002, Northeast Philly’s Grey Lodge Pub (located at 6235 Frankford Avenue) will pay homage to PA’s wily whistlepig tradition in Punxsutawney, PA by hosting the Groundhog Day Beer Breakfast. They’ll have special beers, like the breakfast-themed Manayunk French Toast Cruch and tasty early morning fare such as the Honolulu breakfast (grilled Spam, crispy potatoes, scrambled eggs and cheddar cheese).
Don’t forget your Hawaiian shirt to chase the winter blues away and because you might just win something in the Hawaiian Shirt Contest! They’ll also have a Hula Hoop Contest and Yards Dance Off, among other fun activities. Sounds like a hoot & holler to us!
Doors open at 7 a.m. (earliest allowed by law) and activities run throughout the morning into the afternoon or until you pass out drunk. For a full list of Groundhog Day events at the Grey Lodge Pub, click here.
