Gourmet Taco Kits To-Go from Union Taco

Union Taco Taco Kits To Go

Since tomorrow is National Taco Day, I thought this would be a good time to tell you about the awesome “Taco Kits” that Chef Nick Farina of Union Taco is offering.

Chef Nick has rolled out a new, affordable “Taco Kit” offering for families (or a few hungry adults) at his two Union Taco outposts located at 1,666 Bethlehem Pike in Flourtown, PA, and 4229 Main Street in Manayunk.

The “Taco Kit,” modestly priced at $19.99, is available for takeout only, and comes in a box easily ready for assembly at home. It includes any eight (corn or flour) tortillas, as well as all of the fixings needed to load up tacos, including shredded lettuce, guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream, pepper jack cheese and the choice of seasoned ground beef, braised chicken, shredded pork or sautéed veggies.

Union Taco’s new catering menu also features a larger “Taco Kit” ($39); “Chips & Guac” ($49); a Nacho Platter featuring a choice of chicken, beef or pork ($16); a Quesadilla Sampler ($35); a Burrito Sampler ($35); and Churros & Chocolate ($15). All samplers feed approximately 10-12 people. and are available with 24-hour notice.

“Since we opened in 2013, our customers have asked us to cater larger events at their homes or offices, so we decided to organize these “larger group” options to serve their needs. I’m most excited about the smaller taco kit, as we’ve seen an influx of families coming in for lunch and dinner lately, and we wanted to provide an affordable, easy and fun option for parents looking to enjoy dinner with their kids at home without having to cook,” said Farina. “We’ve already started filling orders, and the response to our new Flourtown location has exceeded our expectations, so we’re intent on finding new ways to make our menu available to more and more people.”

In addition to Farina’s Taco Kits and catering menu, Union Taco’s regular menu offers tacos, tortas, salads, burritos and side dishes, as well as hand-spun milkshakes. Prices range from $3.50 to $6.50 for tacos; $7 to $10 for tortas; $7 to $12 for salads; and $3 to $7 for sides. There’s also a very popular burrito, which is offered for $9 to $10.50. The 16-ounce hand-spun milkshakes are priced at $5 apiece, and selections include Cinnamon Vanilla Churro, Chocolate and Vanilla, along with seasonal specials.

Union Taco is BYO, but offers margarita mixers for $7 to guests who bring their own tequila. Learn more about Union Taco by visiting http://uniontaco.com.
