Rex at The Royal, Philadelphia’s home for elevated Lowcountry fare housed in the historic and newly rejuvenated Royal Theater, and recently celebrated in Philadelphia Magazine’s list of 50 Best Restaurants and Best of Philly™, is thrilled to announce a spate of new menu items including Carolina Hot Dip, Snow Crab Salad, the Royal Seafood Plateau, and much more.
The expanded menu is now available during extended hours, which have grown to include Sunday night dinner (5–9 pm) in addition to standard dinner service Monday – Saturday. Additionally, Rex’s revered Burger, Shot + Beer Special is now available every Sunday and Monday evening for just $19.
Under dramatic chandeliers in the sprawling 72-seat dining room, or bellied up to the glittering Amazonite-top 25-seat bar, Lowcountry-lovers can sip craft cocktails such as Rex’s signature Deep South ($12, rooibos tea infused vodka, lemons, salted honey) or indulge in a Royal Martini ($21, olive oil washed Spanish gin, Spanish dry vermouth, herbs de provence, birchrun bleu cheese stuff olives), courtesy of Bar Manager Joshua Scheid, while feasting on the newest adaptations of traditional Southern cuisine orchestrated by Executive Chef Aaron Paik and the team of culinary experts at Rex at The Royal. Along with the new and expanded menu comes extended hours to match: Due to popular demand, Rex at The Royal is now open for Sunday dinner service from 5–9pm. The Graduate Hospital locale has also sweetened the deal on its revered Burger, Shot + Beer special, a carry-over from Rex at The Royals’ former self, REX 1516.

The Burger, Shot + Beer special, available on Sunday and Monday nights, exclusively in the bar area, is comprised of Rex’s signature all beef burger topped with crispy red onions, spicy pimento cheese, butter, bibb lettuce, and smoked bacon served on a brioche bun served with a crisp Sojourner Lager (Sojourn Philly’s signature brew crafted in collaboration with Neshaminy Brewing) and a shot of well whiskey, is now available at the reduced priced of $19.
