Colanzi’s Moira’mensing Cafe is open for business.
The former Colanzi’s Bar at 1301 West Moyamensing Avenue in South Philadelphia has been revamped and is now an all-day cafe serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The family-friendly dining spot features brick oven pizza (including breakfast pizzas!), sandwiches, homemade soup, breakfast sandwiches, smoothies, desserts, a coffee bar, and much more. Full menu is available on their Instagram.
Colanzi’s is now in its 4th generation of ownership. Owner Michael Powles and his daughter Brianna Powles explained why the long-time bar changed.
“We went from a bar to a cafe to get out of the bar scene and cater to a more family-friendly atmosphere,” Brianna explained. “This establishment has been in the family since 1936. We have lived in South Philly our whole lives and love to be able to interact with the neighborhood once again!”
