The Buttery will celebrate the grand opening of its new location in Bryn Mawr on Saturday, June 13. The new café, located at 836 W. Lancaster Avenue, will bring The Buttery’s signature, all-day offerings and seasonal menus to the heart of the Main Line.

To celebrate the grand opening, The Buttery – Bryn Mawr will debut a special pastry, available exclusively at the Bryn Mawr grand opening weekend, while pastries last: a lemon poppy kouign amann. Layers of house-made creamy poppy seed spread and lemon sugar are folded into croissant dough, creating sweet, zesty pockets as it bakes, then finished with a bright lemon glaze and candied lemon.
Guests can also enjoy a series of giveaways, including a branded tote bag for the first 50 customers and a signature sea salt sable cookie for the first 100 customers on both Saturday and Sunday.
“At The Buttery, everything we do is rooted in creating spaces where people can gather, connect and feel at home,” said John Rhoads, Co-Owner of the Buttery. “We’re excited to bring that same sense of community to Bryn Mawr and to continue growing in neighborhoods that value thoughtful food and meaningful experiences.”

The Bryn Mawr location will feature 82 indoor seats and operate daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The kitchen will close lunch service at 3 p.m. each day, after which pastries, sourdough loaves, coffee, tea, and grab-and-go items, including lunch and pantry staples, will remain available. For parking, a rear entrance facing the parking lot is located directly behind the café, in addition to available off-street parking.

Guests can enjoy a menu reflective of The Buttery’s flagship location in Malvern, featuring breakfast, lunch, coffee and tea, and pastries, and sourdough loaves, all grounded in a commitment to seasonal cooking and sourcing from local farms and purveyors whenever possible. The Buttery’s service style is designed to feel both approachable and elevated, with guests invited to order at the counter, then settle in as their meal is thoughtfully delivered to the table.
Menu highlights include:
- Pastries & Bread: A variety of Buttery classics, including croissants, scones, muffins, cookies, cakes, tarts, and artisanal breads.
- Breakfast: House-made bagels, quiche, Turkish eggs, a harissa bacon egg and cheese sandwich, avocado toast, yogurt with house-made granola, and a full espresso and coffee program using Passenger coffee.
- Lunch: A selection of rotating sandwiches on house-baked bread, seasonal salads, grain bowls, tartines, and al taglio pizza.
Pastries, bread, coffee, and tea will be available during all services throughout the day.

Dinner service and a liquor license will debut at The Buttery – Bryn Mawr in the months following the grand opening. In the meantime, guests can enjoy dinner at The Buttery’s Malvern location four nights a week: Thursday-Saturday 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sundays 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The opening of Bryn Mawr marks another milestone in The Buttery’s ongoing expansion, with an additional location planned for Northern Liberties later this year and further growth anticipated in 2027.
