Pizzeria Salvy Opens at The Concourse at Comcast Technology Center

Comcast Center Campus celebrates the official grand opening of Pizzeria Salvy at The Concourse at Comcast Technology Center, the latest from acclaimed Chef Marc Vetri. Pizzeria Salvy, located on the concourse level of the Comcast Technology Center at 1800 Arch St., will officially open its doors and welcome diners beginning Wednesday, May 31, 2023.

Named after Vetri’s beloved father Sal Vetri, Pizzeria Salvy will feature food inspired by his childhood, Italian cooking, and his father’s influence on his culinary career. A curated selection of 12-inch pizzas, Philly-style slices for lunch, seasonal vegetables, salads, and of course, Sal’s Meatballs, round out the menu inspired by heritage and heart, family, and Philadelphia. For those who like to end their meal on a sweet note, Pizzeria Salvy will have housemade gelatos and a few other specialty sweets created by Pastry Chef Michal Shelkowitz.

“My father has been at the center of everything when it comes to my restaurant career – from the meatballs to the family meals he has made for the last 25 years, it’s only fitting that we dedicate this project to him,” says Marc Vetri, founder, Pizzeria Salvy. “Pizzeria Salvy is my father’s Philadelphia story. It’s a story of persistence and perseverance. It’s a story of my childhood, and all the flavors and experiences I remember.”

At the center of the open kitchen sits the star of the show – a Marra Forni pizza oven imported straight from Italy. The uniquely handcrafted, green-tiled oven built brick-by-brick over the course of five days, features a rotating base inside to create perfectly cooked pizzas utilizing a dough recipe that Vetri and his team have been cooking up for years.

Executive Chef Marco Gagliardi, who has been with Vetri 3 years at Vetri Cucina and began his career at Zahav, will helm day-to-day kitchen operations. Dan King will lead operations as General Manager and comes to Pizzeria Salvy from his previous role at Oyster House.

Completing the menu is Pizzeria Salvy’s bar program, inclusive of wines by the class, beer and a selection of signature cocktails – including the Sicilian Marg made with Tequila/Mezcal, Italicus Liqueur, Lemon and Urfa Salt.

Pizzeria Salvy will be open from Tuesday to Friday for lunch from 11:30am-2:00pm, and for dinner from 4:00-9:00pm. The restaurant features seating for 64 guests, including a 10-seat pizza counter for walk-ins. Tables can be reserved via Tock. For those looking to dine-on-the-go, a selection of [pricing] slices will be available daily.
