We’re big fans of Joncarl Lachman. We adored Noord and were quite sad when it closed, replaced by Mish Mish. He was heading north to Lambertville to open a new restaurant there, but when the deal fell through, and 1911 East Passyunk Avenue became available, he decided to stay in Philly.
Enter Dankbaar, a new Northern European inspired BYOB (ex- 1911 BYOB, ex- June BYOB), which debuts on Valentine’s Day for a sold out intimate candelight dinner. Beyond that, the cozy restaurant will be open on Friday and Saturday nights from 4PM to 10PM.
From the Resy… 🌷
Dankbaar (“Grateful” in Dutch) is a small, friendly, cozy, romantic, candlelit BYOB restaurant in the charming East Passyunk neighborhood of South Philadelphia. Our focus is the cuisines of Northern Europe, primarily the Netherlands. Think “Modern Amsterdam.” We featured house made breads, house smoked fish & meats & a large helping of “gezelligheid.”
