Well-known Philly chef Dane DeMarco (Sonny’s Cocktail Joint, ex-American Sardine Bar, ex-South Philly Tap Room) announced they will be opening Burgertime, a burger and hot dog concept, in Audubon, NJ along with their sister Dannett Monoyios of Haddon Township.

Chef DeMarco, who moved to Audubon from Philadelphia a year ago, started Burgertime as a pop-up when they worked at South Philly Tap Room. They always wanted to bring the project to a full-service reality and recently found the perfect spot on Merchant Street in the South Jersey town, just 10 miles (20 minutes) over the bridge from Center City.
Hoping for a December opening, DeMarco remarked, “I can’t wait to sling burgers and dogs all the time near where my wife and I reside.”
Chef DeMarco recently hosted a sell-out pop-up recently at 12 Steps Down and will continue to host pop-ups for folks to sample before the doors open by the end of the year. In addition to burgers and dogs, tots, and soft serve ice cream will also be offered and there will be vegan-friendly options as well.
They will continue to consult at Philadelphia area restaurants while running this new business.
Stay tuned for more details as we get them.

Hope they can get a retro cabinet version of ‘Burgertime’ for the dining area. Just turn the sound down or your wait staff will go slowly insane…
