Morey’s Piers Breaks Out the Bier, Bratwurst and Lederhosen for Annual Oktoberfest Weekends This Fall

This fall Oktoberfest takes over Morey’s Piers with three consecutive weekends of German-themed revelry, live entertainment, kids “Rootbier Garten” activity area and much more.

On Friday, September 21 at 5:00pm the annual festivities kick-off with a ceremonial keg tapping of Warsteiner beer, live entertainment from Late Last Night, and the Morey family clad in lederhosen. Special guest Helmut Fricker, a German yodeler and alphorn player, will also be joining the opening weekend festivities.

A variety of bands will rock the new Coca-Cola branded stage at Mariner’s Pier near the Giant Wheel during the Oktoberfest weekends. Musical performances are scheduled for Fridays from 6:30pm-10:30pm and Saturdays from 1:00pm-5:00pm, then again from 6:30pm-10:30pm.

Wilhelm’s Bier Garten, the home of Oktoberfest, will serve ice-cold German draft beer along with local and domestic imports and wine. Visitors can feast on German fare aplenty including, fried pierogies, large Bavarian Pretzels, Bavarian Bacon Skewers, Cheddar Bratwurst and Bacon Knockwurst on a pretzel roll.

In addition to the regular menu, Jumbo’s Grub & Pub restaurant will feature a special themed selection of Bavarian pretzels, bratwurst, German potato salad, schnitzel and more. On tap, guests will find a wide selection of beers and tasting flights to be enjoyed at an outdoor “Biergarten” located behind Jumbo’s.

A kid’s zone with a “Rootbier Garten” will be set-up near the Wave Swinger and kids can enjoy a variety of activities including a pumpkin and cookie decorating station. Wristband holders 12 years old and under will receive a free souvenir root beer cup with first fill free. Prices per kid activity vary.

Available select weekends, Morey Resort properties are offering a range of OktoberRest stay packages.

  • The weekends of September 28-29 and October 5-6 the Blue Palms Resort and Starlux Hotel are offering a two-night stay that includes a three-day ride wristband (valid FridaySaturday, and Sunday) to Morey’s Piers and a $5 food and beverage credit on each wristband. Double occupancy prices start at $185 per stay at the Blue Palms Resort; $202 per stay at the Starlux Hotel. Packages available in rooms and suites for 2 to 8 persons.   • The weekend of September 28-29 the Pan American and Port Royal are offering a two-night package with one breakfast per person starting at $295 per stay; the weekend of October 5-8 the Pan American and Port Royal are offering a three-night package with one breakfast per person starting at $405 per stay. Included is a three-day ride wristband (valid FridaySaturday, and Sunday) to Morey’s Piers for up to two people with a $5 food and beverage credit on each wristband. Online tickets for FridaySaturday or Sunday are priced at $24.95 for guests 48” inches and taller and $19.95 for those under 48”. Oktoberfest three-day ride wristbands valid from FridaySunday are available for purchase both online and onsite. Prices are $39.95 for guests 48” inches and taller; $34.95 for those under 48”.

When purchased onsite, single day Oktoberfest ride wristbands for Friday/Sunday admission are $24.95 for guests 48” and taller and $19.95 for those under 48”. Saturday tickets are priced at $29.95 for guests 48” and taller; $24.95 for guest under 48”. Pricing does not include tax/fees.

Mariner’s Pier located at Schellenger Avenue hosts Oktoberfest September 21-23September 28-30, and October 5-7. The pier will be open from 5:00pm to 11:00pm on Fridays; 12:00pm to 11:00pm on Saturdays; 12:00pm to 5:00pm on Sundays.
