Fitler Club, a private lifestyle club, which is currently under construction at 2400 Market Street with a grand opening slated for Q1 2019. The Club will serve as a hub for Philadelphia’s growing community of business, creative and social leaders. Envisioned by 20-year hospitality and lifestyle veteran David Gutstadt, Fitler Club is designed to be the new locale in Center City for members to stay, work and play. Members and their guests will have exclusive access to amenities and programming, including:

  • Restaurants and bars servicing the entire Club

  • Philadelphia’s highest-end fitness center, featuring a luxury spa, 75-foot lap pool and multiple studios

  • Five-star hotel accommodations

  • Co-working spaces and private office suites

  • Over 10,000 square feet of flexible, state-of-the-art event space featuring a 4,600-square-foot ballroom, conference rooms, private dining, a high-end screening room, bowling lanes, billiards and more.

Over the past several years, Philadelphia has gained traction as a city with strong cultural influence, a vibrant arts and dining scene, and an expanding job market attracting young professionals. With nearly two million residents, employment rates outpacing the country overall and over $10 billion of development recently completed or underway, the city is primed for this type of offering.

Located in the new “center” of Center City, Fitler Club will see a flow of traffic and is easily accessible. The Club is at the gateway to the Market Street office corridor, near several of the best residential neighborhoods, including Rittenhouse Square, Fitler Square and Fairmount, and is connected to the Schuylkill River Trail. The Club will bring over a hundred new jobs to the area, including restaurant and hospitality professionals.

Kevin Sbraga and Jeff Benjamin

Top Chef season 7 winner, Kevin Sbraga, will serve as executive chef and culinary director, and longtime hospitality veteran/co-founder of Vetri Family restaurants, Jeff Benjamin, joins as general manager. This is especially exciting for both. All of Kevin’s restaurants in Philadelphia have closed and Jeff Benjamin parted ways with Urban Outfitters over the summer.

I asked Kevin a few questions to learn more about what to expect from the restaurant options:

Philly Grub: Do you have a working name/concept for any of the dining options inside the club?

Kevin Sbraga: Fitler Club will always focus on the lifestyle of our members in everything we do. With this in mind, we are developing two restaurant concepts: the dining room will serve an American approach to global cuisine made with seasonal ingredients. The Back Bar will be a more cozy atmosphere where we serve American comfort food. From the taste and presentation to hi-touch service, we’re looking forward to concepting and creating incredible dining experiences for our members that they can enjoy throughout the club.

PG: What kind of cuisine and food options can people expect? Fine dining and casual? Healthy, etc.?

KS: I am working on developing the menus now for all of the areas of the club: the restaurant, the Back Bar, the catering menus for the event spaces and for the Trophy room. Each will have their own signature elements, but all will have a wellness component in mind to fit with the lifestyle of our members.

PG: Will the dining options include any additional amenities (room service, catering, etc?)

KS: Our members will be able to enjoy eating throughout the club – whether they are working in an office or lounging poolside. We will also offer a full catering menu for large events like weddings and charity events or more intimate events like meetings and celebrations.

Looking forward to the Fitler Club in 2019!
