Did you miss the Savoie Organic Farm Dinner featuring Chef Shola Olunloyo earlier this month? Don’t fret. It will be featured on WHYY’s Friday Arts this Friday, November 3rd at 8:30 p.m.

Chef Shola Olunloyo has long been regarded as one of Philadelphia’s best-kept culinary secrets. He runs a private kitchen, StudioKitchen, where he hosts regular, seasonal inspired, forward thinking menus, showcasing his modernist techniques and creative approach to food preparation and presentation.

Olunloyo first met Carol and Barry Savoie at the Headhouse Farmer’s Market in Society Hill, where Chef Olunloyo religiously stops by their farm stand to buy fresh organic arugula. Knowing Chef Olunloyo’s private way of cooking, Carol first hesitated to invite him to collaborate on a farm dinner, but to her surprise, he did not hesitate to accept her proposition. Guests were recently treated to the vegetables and fruits grown at Savoie Organic Farm along with Chef Olunloyo’s Italian-inspired menu.

Friday Arts follows Chef Olunloyo as he plans for the evening incorporating seasonal vegetables from the farm, freshly milled pastas, and naturally raised meats into the menu. A meal that is as much a show as it is a dinner, the featured dishes were carefully planned and prepared, by people who care about every step of the process of the food they offer and share with others.
