In celebration of National Drink Wine Day, Chris Fetfatzes and Heather Annechiarico of Hawthornes Cafe are hosting a complimentary tutored wine tasting complete with light snacks on Saturday, February 18th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the restaurant, located at 736 South 11th Street in Philadelphia’s Bella Vista neighborhood.
To assist with the tasting, Michele Alwine, a representative from The Wine Merchant, will be on-hand during the two-hour experience, pouring various wines for guests while educating them about what they are sampling. Hawthornes will also be offering “heavily discounted” wines from their to-go beverage selection, as well as for in-house dining throughout the entire night.
“We love being known for our delicious food, but Hawthornes also has a serious focus on beverages,” said Fetfatzes. “We’ve worked really hard to curate dozens of delicious vintages, and we’ve developed a reputation as a serious beverage destination in Philly over the last few years. We have so many wonderful bottles of red and white wine in stock from a variety of wine producing regions, and we’re really looking forward to having Ms. Alwine help demystify the winemaking process and educate our guests about the details relating each of the vintages that we’re serving on February 18th.”
Hawthornes serves weekday breakfast and weekend brunch, as well as lunch and dinner six days a week.
