Flakely gluten free breakfast sandwich Bryn Mawr

There’s some good news for gluten-free early birds on the Main Line.

Flakely, the dedicated gluten-free bakery with a storefront in Bryn Mawr, is expanding its hours and adding a brand-new breakfast sandwich to the menu beginning Tuesday, August 25.

The change comes directly from customer feedback. Since opening the Bryn Mawr shop, Flakely says one request has come up again and again: customers wanted the bakery to open earlier.

Beginning August 25, Flakely will open at 8 a.m. Tuesday through Friday, giving commuters, students, and anyone looking for a morning gluten-free option a chance to stop in before starting their day. Saturday hours will begin at 9 a.m.

Of course, earlier hours call for breakfast.

Meet the Flakely Breakfast Sandwich

Launching alongside the new hours is the Flakely Breakfast Sandwich, featuring a fluffy egg and Cooper Sharp cheese with the option to add bacon, all served on Flakely’s house-made buttery brioche bun.

The sandwich is served toasted and designed to be an easy grab-and-go breakfast. Most importantly for Flakely’s customers, the entire sandwich — including that brioche bun — is completely gluten-free.

For people who follow a gluten-free diet, finding a breakfast sandwich that doesn’t require substitutions or compromises can be challenging. Flakely is making the whole thing from the ground up with its own gluten-free bread.

The bakery is also expanding its beverage selection to complement the earlier hours. Over the coming weeks, customers can expect a curated assortment of canned coffees, bottled teas, specialty sodas, juices, and other grab-and-go drinks.

Free Breakfast Sandwiches on Launch Day

Flakely is giving customers an extra incentive to show up early on launch day.

On Tuesday, August 25, the first 10 customers who purchase another item will receive a Flakely Breakfast Sandwich for free.

Doors open at 8 a.m., so anyone hoping to snag one of those complimentary sandwiches may want to make Flakely one of their first stops of the morning.

The new hours will be Tuesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Between the earlier opening time, new breakfast sandwich, and expanding beverage lineup, Flakely is positioning its Bryn Mawr storefront as more than a place to pick up gluten-free baked goods. Now, it’s becoming a morning stop, too.

And for anyone who has been waiting for a warm, buttery, completely gluten-free breakfast sandwich on the Main Line, August 25 might be a good morning to set the alarm a little earlier.
