Anh Em is now open in Point Breeze

South Philadelphia has a new spot for Vietnamese food, and this one is keeping the kitchen going well into the night.

Anh Em is now open at 1252 S. 21st Street in South Philadelphia, serving a menu of Vietnamese dishes ranging from familiar favorites to seafood, grilled meats, and shareable plates.

Even better for Philly’s late-night dining crowd, Anh Em is open until 2 a.m.

Diners can dig into Cร  Ri, Vietnamese curry packed with aromatic spices, or Bรฒ Tรกi Chanh, a bright and flavorful preparation of rare beef with citrus. Seafood also gets plenty of attention, with dishes including Speared Octopus and Salt & Pepper Shrimp.

There’s also Baked Lemongrass Chicken, bringing together one of the quintessential flavor combinations of Vietnamese cooking, along with Bรกnh Mรฌ and several other options for those looking for something a little more casual.

Anh Em is open from 4 p.m. until 2 a.m. Closed on Tuesdays.

Vietnamese cuisine certainly isn’t new to South Philadelphia, which has long been home to some of the region’s most beloved Vietnamese restaurants. Anh Em joins that rich dining landscape with its own take on the cuisine and a menu that seems designed for ordering several dishes and sharing around the table.

With everything from curry and lemongrass chicken to octopus, shrimp, beef, and bรกnh mรฌ, there are plenty of reasons to make more than one visit. Not to mention it is a full-service bar as well.
