Ellis Coffee is a 170-year-old artisan coffee roaster and coffee supplier currently based in Bridesburg. Having enjoyed their coffee in offices, restaurants, and other public spaces, I’ve been a fan for a long time. So, I was excited when they reached out asking me if I wanted to sample a new coffee.
They recently introduced Tanzania Zanzibar coffee featuring medium-roasted peaberry beans, which is a rare and highly sought-after African coffee varietal from the Mbozi & Mbeya regions in Southwestern Tanzania, near Mt. Kilimanjaro.

I really enjoyed this coffee. It’s exactly as advertised, a mellow medium blend making for a smooth cup of coffee. I definitely got some complex flavor notes, though; it’s a bit fruity on the palate, but in a very pleasant way. I highly recommend checking it out!
