Guru’s Indian Cuisine in Newtown Unveils Autumnal-Inspired Menu

Guru’s Indian Cuisine, located at 203 North Sycamore Street in Newtown, PA, is rolling out an inventive autumnal-inspired menu on Friday, September 22, in celebration of the autumn equinox. Proceeds from the seasonal menu will benefit Happy Tails Rescue Retirement Home in Morrisville, PA. The new menu at the beloved Bucks County Indian restaurant owned by Chef Ashni Kumar Guru and his wife Priya features the flavors of fall โ€“ cinnamon, ginger, pumpkin, and squash โ€“ which are all cherished in India.

โ€œโ€˜Babaโ€™โ€ (Chef Guru) and I created a menu thatโ€™s a nod to the traditional American fall flavor notes, but with an Indian twist,โ€ explained Priya. โ€œGuests will be treated to butternut squash soup and pumpkin curry, and even an Indian version of a Sloppy Joe (also available as a vegan option), which we call the โ€œSloppy Baba.โ€ Weโ€™re also very excited to introduce our version of the classic cannoli, which utilizes a thick, creamy, strained yogurt flavored with saffron.
