Takumi Bistro & Bar, a Japanese restaurant specializing in sashimi and sushi, officially opens in Devon Village in Wayne, PA, on Wednesday, September 20. Takumi provides guests with an authentic and modern Japanese experience with delectable flavors and a full cocktail menu.

Takumi’s executive chef, Larry Jiang, was trained by the team at the acclaimed sushi restaurant, Nobu. Sashimi and sushi offerings include a unique Takumi Omakase Sushi, a salmon and tuna flight and the 821 Roll which contains a deep-fried roll with white fish, avocado, kani and asparagus. Other menu highlights include fully cooked options, including creamy kimchi udon, rock shrimp and the tuna crudo topped with caviar and truffle.
“We are thrilled to officially open Takumi and introduce Japanese flavors to the Main Line,” said Yvonne Yang, General Manager at Takumi Bistro & Bar. “In Japanese, the name “Takumi” means artisan or skilled. We’re proud to encapsulate that meaning through exceptional talent in our kitchen and a one-of- a-kind sushi and cocktail menu. Takumi is a perfect place for any occasion.”
The restaurant’s ambiance features dark paneling, leather booths, and an expansive floral wall arrangement to create an intimate environment for its customers. Takumi offers a private event space for up to 50 people, which allows guests to host gatherings and private parties.
The managers, Yvonne Yang and Eddie Zheng, have a robust roster of restaurants under their belts in the Mid- Atlantic region. Michelin-recommended Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao in Cherry Hill, NJ and Flushing, NY and Qu Japan Bistro & Bar in Philadelphia are just two of the many establishments that the pair have collaborated on together.
Takumi Bistro & Bar, located in Devon Village, 821 Lancaster Ave in Wayne, PA will be open seven days a week from 11:30 am to 9:30 pm, with extended hours on Friday and Saturday to 10:00 pm.
