HipCityVeg Launches New Menu

HipCityVeg, the woman-owned and led regional plant-based chain, will launch its biggest menu reimagining since it opened its doors 11 years ago.  

“Many of you told us you are squeezed by rising prices. You wanted more gluten-free options and superfoods like Maitake mushrooms. You want gut-healing foods like miso and fermented chilies. But you still want to be satisfied and enjoy the foods you crave,” according to HipCityVeg’s Founder and CEO Nicole Marquis.  

While the 100% plant-based fast casual kept its top sellers on the menu, like the Crispy HipCity Ranch, the Smokehouse and Ziggy burgers, sweet potato fries, golden nuggets, and hand-spun shakes, they introduced what they expect will become new favorites. HipCityVeg also streamlined the menu and updated some of its classics.  

“Our guests don’t want to sacrifice quality and flavor for a good price. I think they’re really going to love what we’ve done with our new menu, said Marquis.  

HipCityVeg’s new menu items include:           

OH MAITAKE BURGER: Crispy Maitake Mushroom Burger with a creamy green goddess dressing, pickled onion, and toasted golden brown bun (with a gluten-free bun available) 

SPICY CRISPY SANDWICH: Fried crispy chick’n with cilantro lime slaw and fermented chili sauce  

SOUTHERN FRIED MAITAKE SALAD with crispy maitake, romaine, carrot, pickled onion, cucumber, creamy dill dressing, and fresh lemon 

MISO NOODLE CHICK’N SALAD with spicy glazed chick’n, udon noodles, romaine, carrot, cabbage, scallion, miso dressing 

SHROOM BOOMS: Crispy Maitake Mushroom bites with a creamy green goddess dip  

Hand-Battered ONION RINGS 

HipCityVeg’s new “Meal Deal” allows guests to add fries and a drink to any meal for $3.95, which is generally a savings of about $3 for the customer.

The menu remains 100% plant-based, tree nut free, kosher, dairy-free, egg-free, so it’s “better for you and the planet,” according to HipCityVeg.  

“Thanks for taking this ride with us into the future of plant-based and for supporting this woman-owned and led, an independently-owned local restaurant,” said Marquis.  

HipCityVeg is a 100% plant-based, fast-casual restaurant. It takes familiar favorites, crispy chick’n, burgers, fries, nuggets, and shakes, and turns them into equally delicious vegan options. Latina plant-based powerhouse Nicole Marquis created it; the woman-led independent chain is based in Philadelphia and has 7 locations in the Philadelphia area and Washington, DC.
