Product Corner: BrightFarms Baby Greens & Salad Kits

Salads and fresh ingredients are often associated with summer but can stay with the first cool breeze of the year. Greenhouse farms use the latest technology to control the climate indoors 365 days/year, making it possible to find fresh, local, and nutritious leafy greens year-round.

BrightFarms is an American indoor farming company headquartered in Irvington, New York with six greenhouse farms including one in Selingsgrove, PA, which is about 3 hours from Philadelphia. The company grows and supplies local, non-GMO, pesticide-free, and fresh salad greens to supermarkets.

From a variety of packaged greens to their premium salad kits, BrightFarms aims to provide the freshest, tastiest, and most sustainably grown produce to communities across the East Coast. BrightFarms produce is a convenient, healthful, and affordable option for health-conscious consumers and is grown using fewer resources than conventional field-grown produce.

The Sunny Crunch lettuce comes from BrightFarms’ Pennsylvania greenhouse, where it is grown indoors, harvested at the peak of freshness, and delivered to local grocery stores in as little as 24 hours.

BrightFarms teamed up with local food blogger Madeline Tague (@mad_about_food) to create the perfect fall salad starring locally-grown greens. “The Ultimate Fall Salad” pairs seasonal ingredients like colorful squash, crunchy pumpkin seeds, and tart dried cranberries with crisp yet delicate, BrightFarms lettuce.

They sent me the ingredients to give the greens and this recipe a try. The word “crunch” is not just marketing jargon. These baby greens have a real crunchy texture and ultra fresh flavor. I opted to make this salad for dinner one night and it was very satisfying bursting with fall flavors! You can find Madeline’s recipe below or click here for more recipes.

In Pennsylvania, you can find BrightFarms at most Giant supermarkets. Check the store locator to find a location near you.

Check out BrightFarms fresh baby greens, knowing that these sustainably-grown greens come from a greenhouse farm in Pennsylvania.

Samples were provided, but my opinions are my own.
