Cafe Ynez Mexico City in Philadelphia

Café Ynez, the all-day-dining, Mexico City-inspired BYOB in Point Breeze is excited to announce their new authentic menu showcasing Executive Chef, Juan Carlos “JC” Piña’s homage to the flavors of his home city.

Chef Piña takes the homegrown fare of Mexico City cuisine – corns, beans and chiles – to make both traditional and modern, bold flavors.

Chef’s flavorful new additions include a new dinner entrée, Lomo de Tarnera ($18) – a 12 oz NY steak, caramelized onions, mushrooms, steak sauce and truffle oil with huitlacoche butter; Taco de Camarones ($12) – two sautéed shrimp tacos served on soft corn tortillas, topped with adobo, shallots, radish, red cabbage, and queso cheese; and a Pollo Sandwich ($12) – marinated chicken breast, caramelized onions, chihuahua cheese, sliced Beefsteak tomato, spicy mayo, served on a ciabatta bread with a side ensalada verde, among the mix.

Longtime fans of the Mexican all-day diner will still enjoy favorites like the Huevos Rancheros ($12) – breakfast potatoes, refried black beans, fried egg topped with 2 taquitos carnitas, jalapeno salsa, drunken salsa, sour cream, and cotija cheese; the half ($12) and full ($17) Oven Roasted Chicken served with a choice of two sides or three sides, respectively; and Huevos con Chorizo ($12) – scrambled eggs, chorizo, Mexican rice, grilled corn tortillas, cotija cheese, and guacamole.

“When you step inside Café Ynez and you taste Chef Piña’s authentic Mexico City-inspired cuisine, you’re immediately transported,” said Café Ynez General Manager, Carlos Godoy.

Guests are encouraged to bring a bottle of their own booze and try one of the four new housemade mixers ($10/carafe) to pair with the bright, delicious and refreshingly affordable fare:

  • Mango Mint (suggested pairing: sparkling wine)– orange juice, mango puree & mint syrup

  • Blackberry Lemon Thyme (gin or vodka) – blackberry puree, lemon, homemade thyme syrup

  • Bloody Mary (tequila or vodka) – tomato juice, lime, hot sauce, black pepper & cilantro

  • Orange Margarita (tequila) – lime juice, orange simple syrup.

Brunch is served weekdays 8am-4pm and on weekends 9am-4pm.

Guests can enjoy the dinner menu Monday through Thursday, 4-9pm and Friday and Saturday until 10pm.
