Capofitto Pizzeria + Gelateria Celebrates Summer with New Dishes & Late Night Pizza Happy Hour

Capofitto Pizzeria Gelateria

Capofitto Pizzeria Gelateria in Old City announces late night Pizza Happy Hour “Pizzata” every Monday & Tuesday through summer 8PM-10PM.

Capofitto Pizzeria + Gelateria is bringing La Dolce Vita to Philadelphia this summer with a bounty of new seasonal dishes, plus a weekly Pizzata — a Monday and Tuesday late night pizza “happy hour” offering two of Stephanie Reitano’s artisan pizzas for just $10 each from 8pm-10pm.

Pizzata is the slang Italian term for a pizza party upon school year end and roughly translates to “have pizza all together.”

Capofitto’s Pizzata offerings include Reitano’s signature Marinara Pizze (San Marzano tomatoes DOP, oregano, garlic & Sicilian extra virgin olive oil) and Margherita Pizze (San Marzano tomatoes DOP, fior di latte mozzarella, Sicilian extra virgin olive oil, pecorino Romano, basil).

Pizzata will be available starting Monday, June 20th through the end of summer.

Inspired by artisans in Italy, Reitano is dedicated to always sourcing the best possible ingredients. Her philosophy is prevalent in the new Capofitto menu from the Green Meadow Zucchini Salad to an artfully presented cheese plate offered at dessert combining both domestic and Italian cheeses.

Some of Reitano’s favorite new dishes for summer include:

  • Caprese Salad for 2 – local heirloom tomatoes from Green Meadow Farms, burrata from Maplebrook Farm (Bennington, VA), olive oil poached rainbow cherry tomatoes from Green Meadow Farms, Sicilian Olive oil, Green Meadow Farms’ micro greens ($14)

  • Local Zucchini Salad (Green Meadow Farms) with fiore sardo cheese and pistacchios with a lemon vinaigrette ($10)

  • Panelle Fritte – a traditional dish from Palermo. These fritters are made from chickpea flour and served with marinated Green Meadow tomatoes, sugar peas and herbs ($14)

  • Summer Bolognese – a heady dish of slow cooked local pork with white wine and fragrant herbs and fresh paccheri ($14)

  • Pizza! – mozzarella di Bufala, provola, speck, basil and Green Meadow Farms zucchini pesto ($16)

  • Dessert Cheese Plate with domestic and Italian cheeses (StraCapra from Lombardy), Beehive Promontory whisky-washed (from Utah), Provolone Piccante and King’s Creamery Blue. All served with fry bread and house made mostarda ($16)

Capofitto serves artisanal Neopolitan pizza, house-baked pastries, La Colombe coffee, and Capogiro’s world-famous gelato in the heart of Philadelphia’s historic district.

They are open Sunday through Thursday 10am-10:30pm and Friday and Saturday’s 10am-11:30pm.

Capofitto is located at 223 Chestnut Street.
