A new restaurant has quietly opened its doors at the corner of 13th and Federal Streets in South Philadelphia.

Tierra Viva Restaurante is now open at 1300 Federal Street, bringing Mexican-inspired cuisine with an American twist to the neighborhood.

According to its Google listing, Tierra Viva focuses on fresh dishes made with quality ingredients, including vegan options. The restaurant describes itself as a welcoming, relaxed spot for lunch, dinner, family meals, and casual dining.

The corner space may look familiar to neighborhood residents. It was most recently home to Lucky Star, which billed itself as serving the “Best Chinese Food on 13th Street.”

Now, Tierra Viva is giving the location a new identity and adding another dining option to this busy stretch of South Philly, just a short distance from East Passyunk Avenue.

Details about the owners and full menu are still limited. Philly Grub has reached out to Tierra Viva Restaurante for more information and is awaiting a response. We’ll share additional details as they become available.

For now, Tierra Viva Restaurante is open every day from 4 to 9 p.m.
