New Pizza Shop in Glenside is Generating Buzz

A new neighborhood pizzeria is quickly building a loyal following just outside Philadelphia. While its name promises pizza and cheesesteaks, some say the real standout might be the wings.

Vincenzo’s Pizza & Steaks opened recently at 112 S. Easton Road in Glenside, PA, taking over the former Apollo’s Pizza location. The shop is owned by Steve Schmucker and Alex Filipe, who have reimagined the longtime neighborhood favorite with a renewed focus on fresh ingredients, quality, and consistency.

Although pizza and cheesesteaks remain the stars of the menu, a social media collaborator has been posting praise for the restaurant’s wings. Early reviews have highlighted their flavor, crispiness, and generous portions.

The new owners have emphasized that everything is made with quality in mind. Dough is prepared fresh daily, ingredients are carefully selected, and they’re working to eliminate frozen products whenever possible. They have a simple goal. Create a neighborhood pizza shop consistently known for great food.

The business also carries on a family legacy. Filipe’s father previously owned Apollo’s Pizza, and the restaurant has remained in familiar hands through the transition. The name “Vincenzo’s” pays tribute to Filipe’s Italian heritage, inspired by his grandmother Vincenzina and great-grandfather Vincenzo, according to Glenside Local.

With delivery now available and positive word-of-mouth spreading across social media, Vincenzo’s appears to be off to a strong start. This Glenside newcomer might become one of Montgomery County’s newest go-to spots for pizza, cheesesteaksโ€”and perhaps wings. Check it out and let us know what you think!
