Picture this: a cozy night by the fireplace with a boozy hot chocolate in hand. We’re talking about a grown-up twist on the classic, indulgent treat, where the warmth of the cocoa is enhanced by a splash of your favorite spirit. If you’re feeling a bit more festive, why not shake things up with a creative spin on holiday egg nog? These recipes promise to add a dash of merriment to your celebrations. Artic Freeze Hot Chocolate (Serves 4)
(December Cocktail of the Month)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Combine first five ingredients in a shaker.
  2. Shake vigorously, then fill with ice and shake again.
  3. Strain into mugs filled part way with ice.
  4. Top with heavy cream; stir lightly.
  5. Garnish with whipped cream, marshmallow and sprinkles

Winter Wonderland Margarita  

Ingredients 

  • ⅓ c unsweetened coconut milk 
  • 1 ½ tsp granulated sugar 
  • 2 oz 818 Tequila Blanco 
  • ½ oz Malibu Coconut Rum 
  • ½ oz Combier d’ Orange Liqueur 
  • ½ oz fresh lime juice 
  • Rosemary sprig, for garnish 
  • Cranberries, for garnish 
  • White sanding sugar, for garnish 

Directions  

  1. Add the first two ingredients in a saucepan and simmer for 1 minute; set aside to cool. 
  2. Rim a coupe glass with sanding sugar; set aside. 
  3. Combine all ingredients, except for garnishes, in a shaker filled with ice. 
  4. Shake and strain into prepared glass. 
  5. Garnish with rosemary sprig and cranberries. 

Christmas Old Fashioned  

Ingredients 

Directions 

  1. Combine the first four ingredients in a shaker filled with ice.
  2. Shake and strain into a rocks glass. 
  3. Add bitters and top with ginger beer. 
  4. Garnish with rosemary sprig, cinnamon sticks, star anise and orange wheels. 

*Maple cardamon simple syrup: Combine ¼ cup water, ½ cup pure maple syrup, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon and ½ teaspoon ground cardamon in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Boil for 2-3 minutes, remove from heat and cool. Refrigerate in a covered container. 


Fire & Ice Nog

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Combine all ingredients, except for garnishes, in a shaker filled with ice.
  2. Shake and strain into a cocktail glass.
  3. Garnish with ground nutmeg, star anise and cinnamon sticks.
