If you been following recently, I’ve been trying to keep up with all the new Nashville/hot chicken joints that have been proliferating in Philadelphia. Well, there’s MORE! Apparently, this trend is not slowing down at all. Here are two others who have joined the hot chicken craze in Philly.
Hot Chicken in West Philadelphia/University City
This week, Bonfire Chicken will be opening for take-out/delivery-only at the University Fair Food Co. ghost kitchen facility. ETA is this Sunday, August 27. The will have hot chicken, wings, and also some Asian-inspired dishes such as dumplings, Spring rolls, and rice platters. They also go beyond Nashville-style hot chicken flavor, including Thai spicy, Korean, and BBQ sauces.

Hot Chicken in North Philadelphia
And ICYMI – Captain’s Hot Chicken opened last November at 5533 N 5th Street in North Philly. This mission-driven Halal hot chicken joint is owned by Bangladeshi immigrant Fezz Faisal His mission is to give $1 of every purchase to charitable causes, supporting orphans and funding educational programs specifically.
