Alice, an American bistro at 901 Christian Street in the heart of the Italian Market, has softly opened. The former Monsu is now under the ownership and leadership of longtime Philly Chef Dave Conn.

Chef Conn, who named the establishment after his late mother, is drawing inspiration from her indomitable spirit. The restaurant, which will be seasonally driven, will also highlight the mastery of wood grilling, promising a captivating culinary experience.
Unlike its predecessor, Alice proudly boasts a coveted liquor license, adding an inviting bar and element of sophistication with tantalizing libations to the overall dining experience.
Chef Conn’s culinary journey led him from his roots outside Baltimore to the streets of Philadelphia in 2002. He began at the esteemed Philadelphia Fish & Co. in Old City and then on to a 12-year adventure with renowned chef Jose Garces of the Garces Restaurant Group, working at acclaimed establishments like Village Whiskey and JG Domestic. His culinary prowess led him to serve as one of Chef Garces’ trusted assistants on the revered Iron Chef TV series.
