La Chinesca Launches Lunch Service

The team at 13th Street Kitchens opened La Chinesca at the beginning of summer in 2021, giving Philadelphia its first ever Mexicali dining experience, crossing Chinese-American and Baja cuisines that are normally found in specific neighborhoods of Mexico. They did so while converting a former Jiffy Lube into an indoor-outdoor restaurant in the heart of Philly’s Spring Arts neighborhood, giving the new eatery a truly unique look and feel than any other restaurant in the city.

Now, after nearly two years of serving the up-and-coming neighborhood during the evenings, Michael Pasquarello’s La Chinesca has launched lunch service, which will be offered weekdays from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the restaurant located at 1036 Spring Garden Street. La Chinesca also offers weekend brunch Saturdays and Sundays.

The lunch menu will include such items as Tijuana Street Dogs; Quesabirria tacos; Carnitas Tacos; Wonton Chips and Salsa; Chicken Tinga Eggroll; Squid Caesar Salad; Kung Pao Wings; Cold Noodle Salad; Birria “Steak and Eggs” Breakfast Burrito, and much more. A wide variety of beverages including artisan cocktails, local craft beers, wines, agua frescas, and more will also be available.

La Chinesca has also introduced a few specials available only during lunch hours, including 10% off for all Philadelphia students, 50% off all margaritas, and 50% off low or non-alcoholic cocktails for those taking a break in the work day. The restaurant will also offer private events and work gatherings during lunch hours, as well as lunch catering for nearby businesses. La Chinesca now offers happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday through Friday.
