Nipotina Sandwich Shop Opening in South Philly

Marlo and Jason Dilks, the proud owners of SliCE and P’unk Burger, have finally announced the highly anticipated grand opening of Nipotina their new sandwich shop at 2238 S. 21st Street in South Philadelphia.

This exciting new addition to the culinary scene is set to open its doors on Thursday, April 13th, with a tantalizing offer of free breakfast sandwiches to kick things off. And the surprises don’t stop there – Friday will feature a free french fry giveaway, followed by free drinks on Saturday and Sunday.

Despite running three restaurants and raising a large family of seven food-loving daughters, the ambitious husband-wife duo have dedicated themselves to perfecting their version of an Italian corner sandwich shop throughout the pandemic. Nipotina boasts nearly three dozen mouth-watering options, ranging from classic cheesesteaks, cutlet sandwiches, and hoagies, to meatball and sausage sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches, and a tempting selection of vegan options with a South Philly twist.

Drawing inspiration from Marlo’s Italian grandmothers and her Dad’s famous luncheonette and butcher shop, which was conveniently located just a few blocks away, Nipotina is a fast casual eatery that pays tribute to the rich history of South Philadelphia. But it’s not just about nostalgia – this modern and inviting restaurant offers a range of delicious, must-try selections that are sure to satisfy even the most discerning of palates.

Among the top recommendations are the Hangover Cure, which features ribeye steak, Cooper Sharp American cheese, smashed tater tots, an over-easy egg, and sriracha; the indulgent Everyday I’m Truffling, which includes ribeye steak, black truffle burrata, truffle oil, and truffle honey; and The Nipotina, made with chicken cutlet, fried red peppers, fried salami, and chipotle mayonnaise.

The vegan options are just as delectable, with standout choices including The Hottie (a vegan cheesesteak) with vegan steak, vegan cheese, fried onions, long hots, sriracha ketchup, and hot pepper oil; and The Fugazi (a vegan cutlet) with vegan chicken cutlet, portobello mushrooms, fried onions, fried long hots, vegan cheese, and vegan horseradish mayo. And for the ultimate meat-lover, The Millie is a showstopper with prosciutto, soppressata, hot imported capocollo, imported mortadella, sharp provolone, and red onion.

Nipotina offers seating for approximately 28 guests both inside and out, with a welcoming, clean, and modern vibe. The restaurant also features vintage South Philly signs from Marlo’s Dad’s famous club and luncheonette, which were just blocks away, adding to the cozy and nostalgic atmosphere.

In addition to their delicious sandwich offerings, Nipotina also offers deli meats by the pound, catering, party trays, and event rentals. And with summer treats, monthly specials, and food collaborations on the horizon, Nipotina is sure to become a beloved South Philly staple in no time.

NIpotina will offer breakfast, lunch and dinner, with hours Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00am to 7:00pm to start. Dine-in is available inside and outside, along with pick-up and take-out. Delivery is offered through the Nipotina website or by calling, with a launch on major delivery apps later this spring. For more information and to place your order call 484-355-5410 or click here.
