The Franklin Bar Reopens Friday

Almost a year ago to the date when I first reported that The Franklin Bar (AKA Franklin Mortgage) closed, the beloved bar has announced its reopening at 1718 Latimer Street in Rittenhouse Square (within The 1715 Rittenhouse Boutique Hotel) this Friday, April 22 with veterans of Franklin’s management team.

The new establishment features art deco inspired interiors carefully curated by Widell + Boschetti interior design firm and boasts a single-malt scotch room and wine room in addition to the seated bar area.

The Franklin Mortgage team has been developing their unparalleled cocktail program in the new space, located at 1715 Schubert Alley. Alongside the expanded features at this location, they’ve also added an array of state of the art culinary equipment to their arsenal to create infusions and syrups and add aromatic elements and essences including bitters all in house. They can even top cocktails with smoke-filled bubbles perfect for your Instagram.

Unlike their former location, Franklin Mortgage and Investment Company will now be offering reservations. They will also offer private bookings for VIP lounge rooms, where guests can design their own experience with music selections, among other options. The space will also host a wine room and single-malt scotch room, with one of the the widest selections in the city, which are also available for private bookings, and Franklin Mortgage is planning to develop tasting programs to utilize each.

Franklin will still maintain elements of their beloved former location, including their incredible team and staff members responsible for developing the flavors and imbibes on their menu, and their price point, which runs between $15-23 for cocktails.

They will be open from 5 PM to 12 AM Sunday through Thursday and 5 PM to 2 AM on Friday and Saturday nights.

The Franklin Mortgage and Investment Company is planning to expand their kitchen capabilities in the coming months to offer small plates and brunch offerings on the weekends. They’ve also committed to a zero-waste policy to reduce waste from tables at their new location, and guests can expect to see the likes of leather coasters and metal straws at their tables.

Reservations can be made via Resy.
