The lazy, hazy days of summer are behind us, but there’s still plenty of fun to be had at the Jersey Shore before winter comes.
If you’re looking for a new place to stay in the Wildwoods, you should consider The Shore House, a delightfully modern restored mid-century apartment motel for the Airbnb age featuring tasteful design that avoids cliche kitschiness. Newly opened at the beginning of the season in 2018 by Kevin Reardon, the property offers simplistic luxury with all of the amenities in a low key atmosphere assuring maximum relaxation.
The charming motel building offers chic one, two and three bedroom short-term pet-friendly rentals just one block from the beach and very close to the boardwalk. It’s conveniently located to a fenced-in children’s park and dog park making it a perfect destination for families! Plentiful free parking is available in front of the building or along the street on 16th Avenue.
The cozy communal courtyard offers lots of comfortable seating, two grills, a firepit, and outdoor games like bean bag toss and giant Jenga. They provide cruiser bicycles as well as complimentary beach gear such as chairs and umbrellas. There’s also seating outside of each unit. This place is ultra-cute and very Instagrammable!
Each air conditioned apartment unit has a living area, kitchen, bedroom(s), and bathroom with complimentary wi-fi, HDTV, and HBO. Full gourmet kitchens are complete with refrigerator, microwave, stove, dishwasher, oven, utensils, plates, glasses & cookware. There’s a Keurig and k-cups as well as an awesome bar cart so you can bring your own booze and serve cocktails in style. Bedrooms include bed linens, lots of pillows, chair, and desk. Bathrooms include tub/shower combo with plush towels, hair dryer, and vegan/eco-friendly spa soaps, shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion. Iron and ironing board are available in each unit. Finally, there’s cleaning solution, dish soap & detergent, paper towels, and vacuum cleaner so you can clean up after yourself. It has just about everything you need to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing.
We were thoroughly enamored with our overnight in Unit 101 and we’d certainly return for another weekend. Even though it was late in the season, post-Labor Day, the property was just about 100% occupied with families and groups. It was nice to see happy faces enjoying the accommodations as much as we were.
The Shore House, located at 422 East 16th Avenue in North Wildwood, is open until November at which time it will shut down for the winter. I highly recommend that you book now for the 2019 season, though. These units are very popular and will surely sell-out!
Special thanks to owner Kevin Reardon for hosting us, as always our opinions are our own.

I honestly can say I have never even heard of this place. I lived 2 blocks from here 10 years ago. I will definitely let the people that come to the tavern that is a great place to stay. Lots of people are still looking for places in November.
That would be so awesome, Jennifer. It’s very homey and even the one bedroom could sleep 4 — at least in the one that has 2 Queen beds. Great for friends and family!
