La Pina Valley Cantina, featuring modern upscale Mexican cuisine, located at 95 Wilmington West Chester Pike in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania is the newest addition to the restaurant scene in Delaware County area.
Owners are David & Fay Steiger. David brings 25+ years experience with a well rounded restaurant background. In 2010, he launched Harvest Seasonal Grill & Wine Bar in Glen Mills as the General Manager and where he is still a managing partner. It has since grown to a $32 multi-million enterprise with 11 locations in just 7 short years.
Previoiusly, David served as managing partner of Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion, as well as Beverage Manager at Washington Square Restaurant. His wine knowledge stems from 15+ years in wine buying and wine program management as well a course completion from the Wine School of Philadelphia. Most recently he worked hands-on for 2 weeks at Steele Vineyards in Lake County California.
The kitchen at La Pina Cantina is under the watchful eye of Executive Chef Angel Rivera, Angel attended the Escuela de Artes Culinarios de la Ciudad de Mexico and entered the Philadelphia culinary scene in 1999 joining Stephen Starr’s renowned, Tangerine. Angel also opened South Philly Bar and Grill which won Best Sports Restaurant in Philadelphia for 3 consecutive years. Angel acquired knowledge of flavors and techniques while traveling through Mexico.
La Pina boasts over 70 Tequilas and Mexcals and is offering flights with your choice of 3 from each category. In the near future they will be offering special dinner pairings and David will be serving Latin wines from various regions which is quite a refreshing change over other restaurants in the area.
La Pina is open for lunch and dinner daily featuring Cerviche Del Dia, Spanish Shrimp Ceviche, Grilled Octopus, Short Rib Empanadas along with Avocado Sopes which include three fried tortilla Mexican crema queso fresco and cilantro.
The Cena (after 4 p.m. menu) features Paella and Lechon & Tamarindo, a wonderful blending of Roast Suckling Pig, Calabaza puree, Tamarind glaze and baby carrots.
The menu also features Tostados, Tacos, Carnitas, and Tortas along with salads so there are plenty of choices for everyone to try and share.
Hours are Sunday thru Thursday 11:00 a.m to 11:00 p.m and Fri & Saturday 11:00 a.m to 1:00 a.m.
