Rumtoberfest at Bahama Breeze

Bahama Breeze Rumtoberfest

We were invited to try Bahama Breeze’s Rumtoberfest. We visited the one closest to us at the Cherry Hill Mall. You don’t have to twist my arm to sip on a fruity rum drink!

Just as the promotion suggested, I started off with the Higgla’s Happy Juice – a trio of fruity rum drinks – Shipwrecked, Tradewinds, and Classic Bahama Mama. This rum flight hit the spot.

  • Shipwrecked contains Captain Morgan® Spiced Rum, Cruzan® Coconut Rum, bitters, and tropical fruit juices.
  • Tradewinds is made with Cruzan Aged Rum, spiced brandy, coconut, and lime juice.
  • Bahama Mama is made with Cruzan Coconut, Bacardi Black and Castillo Silver Rums, Leroux Banana Liqueur, pineapple and orange juice.

All were fantastic – not too heavy or boozy, but enough to start feelin’ fine.

You can’t go wrong with Bahama Breeze’s Guacamole & Chips! So creamy and full of flavor especially since they put fresh cilantro in it (which I love). I also love that they serve it with both tortilla chips and fried plantain chips. Yum!

Hubby loves Bahama Breeze’s Vine-Ripened Salsa & Chips! You can tell this is made in-house. They don’t skimp on the chunky diced tomatoes, red onion, jalapenos, and cilantro. So good!

I hadn’t tried their Cuban Black Bean Soup and it seemed like the right night to try it. You can get a cup or bowl. I got the bowl. It is a HUGE bowl of delicious, creamy and savory soup. I especially loved that that they drizzled a cilantro crema on top. This is a very satisfying meal in itself!

Hubby and I shared their Rumtoberfest special Rum & Coke Chicken & Ribs because it is a big platter of food – perfect for sharing or for those with big appetites. The chicken & ribs are glazed with their special rum & coke BBQ sauce and served with griddled mac & cheese (!), corn on the cob, and jicama cole slaw. The BBQ sauce was really, really good — I remarked that they should keep it on the menu year-round! The meats were cooked very well, but I gotta say the star of the plate for me was the griddled mac & cheese. Who would think to grill macaroni & cheese? It totally works!! This whole platter was yummy.

We were too full for dessert. We genuinely enjoyed our time at Bahama Breeze on this visit. Service was wonderful and prompt. It’s a fun chain just for the tropical decor alone. Many may think it is hokey, but I like it. Since I’m not traveling to the Caribbean anytime soon, it was the closest I could get. 😉

We totally recommend checking out the Rumtoberfest while you can. You still have time — it ends on November 5th!

Special thanks to Bahama Breeze for arranging our visit. Our opinions are our own.
