Whether you’re going to visit Long Beach Island for the first time or for the 100th time, be sure to consider a stay at Daddy O Hotel Restaurant and Bar in Brant Beach, as we did recently. With a modern, chic vibe, we can see why this boutique hotel with only 22 rooms is a popular destination on the barrier island.

Daddy O is owned by Haverford, PA’s Fearless Restaurant Group, who also own and operate neighboring properties Tuckers Tavern in Beach Haven and Plantation Restaurant and Bar in Harvey Cedars as well as the Moshulu, White Dog Cafe, and Autograph Brasserie restaurants in PA.

When you first walk into Daddy O’s hotel entrance, past the reception area, you’ll find yourself in a surprisingly cozy lobby with comfy modern furnishings and oversized wall graphics depicting kitschy beach life in the ’50s. The interior walls are made of reclaimed wood from a salvaged barn and are featured throughout the property–even the elevator! This design detail was added after the hotel sustained severe damage from Hurricane Sandy which left at least 2 feet of water inside. This stylish seating area is a perfect place to relax for a spell before going up to your room, or heading out to the Outdoor Rum Bar!

Sadly, the Rum Bar and Garden Patio was closed during our visit as we were there on a Wednesday and the off-season, but it looks like a lot of fun could be had here on a warm summer day! It would make a perfect retreat for some spirited day drinking if you ask me. For locals and late season folk, they keep it open in the Fall (at least until November) so visitors can catch football games on the TV. They’ll even break out fire pits and heaters to keep guests warm and toasty. How nice!

There’s also a Rooftop Bar and Lounge on the 3rd floor with a spectacular panoramic view of the island. I could just imagine the fun and frivolity happening up here on a sizzling summer night!

In case of inclement weather or for those who simply want to stay indoors, there’s plenty of room downstairs in both the main restaurant and swanky bar area. Since it was the middle of the week during our visit, there’s wasn’t much action, but rest assured we’ll be back next year to see it in full swing! In the meantime, take a look at the delectable menus. 🙂

Our accommodations were ultra comfortable — complete with a plush king-sized memory foam bed, large HD flatscreen TV, and sitting area. Don’t mind hubby’s legs; he made himself comfortable as soon as we got into the room. 😉

The rooms come with complimentary wifi, spring water, chocolates, and Starbucks coffee. They also keep a bottle of wine in the room but note that if you indulge, they’ll tack on an extra fee to your final invoice.

All in all, we had a pleasant overnight stay at Daddy O and can’t wait to visit again next year! We totally get why people flock to Long Beach Island and book their stay here. It’s got everything you need for a relaxed holiday at the beach. LBI truly is a beach lover’s paradise and fun lover’s wonderland. We highly recommend that you check-out Daddy O whether you’re planning a vacation, or simply a weekend getaway. Daddy O’s provides the sleek modernism of a sophisticated Manhattan hotel with all of the creature comforts at the beach. Just be sure to tell them Philly Grub sent ya!
