Here’s a local product you need on your radar right now: Mert’s Nuts.
The “Mert” behind Mert’s Nuts is Meredith Haab, who decided one holiday season to give out treat bags of her Mom’s recipe of home-roasted nuts as gifts. They were an instant hit and people kept asking for them. Before she knew it, a business was born. Mert’s is based out of Malvern, PA, is sold at various locations in PA and NJ, and ships everywhere via their online store.
I’m not the biggest fan of pecans. Don’t get me wrong, I like them. But they are not my favorite nut. I’d typically chose cashews, almonds, and macadamia nuts before pecans. So I was a bit skeptical that these pecans would be anything special. Boy, was I wrong! These pleasantly plump pecans are ultra savory as a result of being butter-roasted. They’re a perfectly salty snack without being overly salty. Simply delicious!
Available individually or in Mert’s signature mixed nuts bag (with pecan halves, brazil nuts, cashews, almonds, and blanched filberts) and gourmet mix (pecans, dark chocolate, and golden raisins). These nuts and nut mixes are perfect as a snack, gift, for parties, and more. YUM!
They also offer savory, butter-roasted pretzels. These are unlike any pretzel I’ve had. The proprietary seasoning mix they use (which includes garlic, Worcestershire, and Tabasco sauce) really make them unique and addictive! Yes, in fact, they are simply irresistible!
If you love sweet and savory together like I do, you will love the sinful milk and dark chocolate salted caramels topped with savory pecans. Lord have mercy, so decadent! You can get all dark, all milk, or a mix of the two in a box.
