Kick off National Ice Cream Month right! This Sunday, July 2, for the Barnes Foundation’s Free First Sunday, Weckerly’s Ice Cream, a Philadelphia-based micro creamery that specializes in French-style custard ice cream, will be onsite (near the foundation at 20th and the Parkway) from 11am to 4pm.

At their cart, Weckerly’s will be offering a variety of scoops and seasonal ice cream sandwiches. The Blueberry Ice Cream Sandwiches – their most popular seasonal flavor – is made with local heirloom blueberries, rum, lime zest, and brown sugar with cardamom sugar dusted graham crackers.

A new special scoop flavor inspired by Independence Day (and modeled after the childhood classic, the Bomb Pop) will include vanilla, blueberry and strawberry ice cream.

  • Regular ice cream sandwiches: $5

  • Chocolate dipped ice cream sandwiches: $6

  • Single scoop: $4.75

  • Double scoop: $7
