Fine Palate Introduces the Cocktail that Won Burger Brawl’s Cocktail Competition

English Summer Breeze by Fine Palate Award Winning Cocktail

Fine Palate’s Bar Manager Canyon Shayer had seven minutes to craft a delicious cocktail out of random ingredients handed to him during Burger Brawl’s Cutthroat Cocktail Competition on Sunday, June 26th.

The ingredients included a cucumber, Effen Vodka, tequila and elderflower liquor. Shayer whipped up what he called an English Summer Breeze, shook it furiously, served it up in a martini glass and stole the show.

On Friday, July 1 his delicious summer indulgence is debuting on Fine Palate’s cocktail menu, and in celebration of the victory and the delicious combination of ingredients, owner Courtney Dow is debuting it for $5 during Happy Hour from 5 to 7 p.m.

“When I saw the cucumber and Effen Vodka, I knew I could make a refreshing drink that would be delicious and perfect for a hot summer day,” said Shayer. “It was the tequila that threw me for a loop, so I tried using only a ½ ounce to give the cocktail just a bit of strength, and it turns out I guessed right. This drink is seriously delicious!”

“I knew Canyon was super talented the moment he made me a cocktail a few months ago,” quipped Courtney Dow. “I love our cocktail program, which he has orchestrated since joining us last December, and this cocktail fits perfectly onto our list for the summer.” One of Shayer’s selections is what he calls “Bartender’s Choice,” which is followed on the cocktail menu by “Let’s have a conversation.” “Canyon clearly loves the science of cocktail creation,” said Dow. “He makes people happy by using his ingenuity and creativity.”

“This is what the true essence of our restaurant is,” said Chef Vince Joseph. “It’s a team, a family and passionate, dedicated and talented people with a like-minded goal to provide the best in food, cocktails and atmosphere.”
