Mardi Gras 2016

On Tuesday, February 9, SOUTH will host a lively Mardi Gras Celebration, kicking off their Monthly Regional Menu Series featuring different regions of the American South. February will focus on New Orleans, with the regional prix fixe menu offered every Tuesday, all month long.

The $35 prix fixe menu of New Orleans-inspired fare, such as:

  • Crab Beignets with saffron ravigote and pickled mirliton slaw

  • Smoked Duck Gumbo with grilled sausage, fried onions and Carolina rice

  • Gulf Shrimp Etouffé with pimento-green onion pirlau, smoked tomato and fried okra

Additional Mardi Gras cocktail specials will include

  • Vieux Carre, rye and cognac with sweet vermouth and Benedictine

  • Old Square Smash, Beefeater gin with absinthe, mint and honey

The restaurant will also host live Zydeco music as part of their Mardi Gras celebration, a fun twist on their weekly Tuesday Jazz Jam, hosted by Leon Jordon, Sr.
