I tried doing weekly Philly Food Notes, but sadly all of June was neglected. So I’ll just recap a few items from the month of June.

  • Hot Diggity has opened at 630 South Street. Early reports say it’s good, especially the hand-cut fries with different dipping sauces. It’s high on my to-go list.
  • President Obama stopped at John’s Water Ice during his visit to Philadelphia last week. He got the lemon water ice. Now the Pres and the rest of the country knows where to get the best water ice in Philadelphia!
  • Horizons – a vegan restaurant even meat lovers could love, has closed. You may recall one of my first restaurant reviews on this blog about Horizons. I’ll be sad to see it go. I was hoping to dine there one last time before it closed, but it didn’t happen. Good news, though. They’ll be opening a new restaurant simply called Vedge. More about that on Meal Ticket.
