After 15 years of serving the Fairmount community, popular cantina Cantina “Calaca” Feliz will permanently close its doors on August 1, as the restaurant’s lease comes to an end.
The announcement, shared on social media, thanked loyal guests, dedicated employees, and the Fairmount neighborhood for more than a decade of memories, celebrations, and support. The owners also shared that while this chapter near the Art Museum is ending, they hope to find a new home for the Cantina spirit in the future.
For many, Cantina Feliz wasn’t simply a place to enjoy tacos, enchiladas, or handcrafted margaritas. It was where birthdays were celebrated, first dates turned into lasting relationships, families gathered for weekend brunch, and friends met after work for happy hour. It became woven into the fabric of the Fairmount neighborhood.
We wish them well and hope they find a new location.
