After building a devoted following through farmers markets, wholesale accounts, and home delivery, Hank’s Cinnamon Buns is preparing for its biggest milestone yet.

Owner Ron Davis has announced that Hank’s Cinnamon Buns will open its first permanent brick-and-mortar bakery in the Penn Pines Shopping Center at 500 E. Providence Road in Aldan, Delaware County, with a target opening in mid-August.

For fans who have tracked down Davis’ famous oversized cinnamon buns at farmers markets throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania, the new storefront marks an exciting new chapter for the fast-growing bakery brand.

Hank’s Cinnamon Buns has spent the past several years operating out of a commercial kitchen at Artisan Exchange in West Chester while serving customers at markets across the region. The bakery has become a regular stop at numerous farmers’ markets, where customers often preorder buns before they sell out.

Davis’ journey began during the COVID-19 pandemic after his wife encouraged him to try making cinnamon buns. What started as a weekend baking project at their home in Point Breeze quickly turned into a thriving business, with early Instagram sales generating immediate demand. Since then, Hank’s has grown into a full-time operation producing hundreds of cinnamon buns each week for the markets and for folks who pre-order.

The business has attracted plenty of attention along the way. Davis, a former DJ and Delaware County native, has been featured by FOX 29’s Good Day Philadelphia and has earned praise for creating buttery brioche cinnamon buns that are just as flavorful on the outside as they are in the center.

While cinnamon buns remain the star of the show, customers can expect more than just sweet rolls when the Aldan bakery opens. Davis says he’s still finalizing the menu, with additional pastries and coffee available alongside the signature buns.

The permanent location will also give customers a dedicated place to visit, rather than waiting for market days or coordinating deliveries, making Hank’s treats more accessible than ever.

An official opening date has not yet been announced, but the bakery is expected to welcome its first customers sometime in mid-August.
