In celebration of the anniversary of Pita Chip’s Co-founder Omar Alsaadi’s emigration to the U.S. in 1979, the modern Middle Eastern quick-serve restaurant with locations at 3601 Market Street in University City, 1600 North Broad Street at Temple University, and 1623 Big Oak Road at the Oxford Oaks Shopping Center in Yardley, will be offering complementary falafel wraps or bowls to the first 79 customers at each location on Friday, December 8th beginning at 11 a.m., when the shops open (limit one per person).
Additionally, anyone who misses the giveaway can purchase falafel bowls or wraps for only $0.79 throughout the day. No purchase is necessary for the giveaway.

Alsaadi moved to the United States from Damascus, Syria in December of 1979, and in conjunction with his “Americaversary,” he and his partners are excited to commemorate the milestone with a giveaway.
“I like to do something every single year to celebrate my living the American dream, as well as to simply show my gratitude for being in America,” said Alsaadi. “We love taking care of our loyal customers, and we hope this day of free food and discounts can help some hungry people looking for a delicious meal for free or next to nothing.”
All proceeds from sales on December 8th will benefit Caring for Friends, as well as Interfaith Food Alliance, both of which help fight food insecurity.
Pita Chip’s menu includes scratch-made hummus and sides, as well as salad bowls, rice bowls, and wraps featuring chicken shawarma, beef shawarma, falafel, and roasted vegetables.
