Lentil & Co. Hosts Soup Fundraiser for Ardmore Food Pantry
Entrepreneurs Alia Sobel and Leanne DelVescovo of Lentil & Co.

Just as winter’s chill descends upon us, entrepreneurs Leanne DelVescovo and Alia Sobel of Lentil & Co. — a mission driven, quick-serve Mediterranean restaurant in Ardmore, PA — have rolled out their Cozy Lentil Soup, which they’ll earmark proceeds from to support the Ardmore Food Pantry.

“We opened Lentil & Co. in June with a goal of feeding and fueling the community with delicious, scratch-made cuisine, so as we ease into soup season this month, we felt strongly about utilizing the proceeds from one of our signature menu items to assist community members who could really use some help,” said Sobel.

The foundation of the Cozy Lentil Soup ($8.88) is a homemade vegetarian broth simmered for hours with carrots, onions, celery, thyme, and rosemary. Diced carrots, celery, onion, garlic, fresh tomato and cooked lentils are added to the broth and topped off with crisp freshly chopped kale and a dollop of Greek yogurt. It will be available at the eatery from now through the spring, with proceeds benefiting the Ardmore Food Pantry, a local non-profit that helps meet the needs of the food insecure. Quarts of the Cozy Lentil Soup are available for $18.88, and can be frozen and reheated.

“We decided to donate the proceeds from our lentil soup sales to Ardmore Food Pantry because our philosophy from the beginning was to make an impact in our community. Giving back will be full circle for Lentil & Co., as we love to see the community be well and thrive,” said Sobel and DelVescovo. “Our mission is to offer delicious and nutritious foods. We have prepared food with intention and love for years to feed our friends and families, and now we’re thrilled to share that love with the community.”

Partners DelVescovo and Sobel opened their health-conscious fast casual spot at 44 Rittenhouse Place with the hope that their business would become a hub for good food and a resource for healthy living. “We love people. We love food. And we absolutely love bringing both together,” said DelVescovo. Neither partner has “formal” culinary training, but combined they have more than 50 years of experience in the hospitality industry.
