The Morris Restaurant at 225 S. 8th Street in Philadelphia is now open!
Undergoing a remarkable transformation from its previous identity as the M Restaurant, The Morris now embodies a fresh vision, offering a delightful experience centered around classic American fare.
At the heart of this culinary venture is Executive Chef Grant Lloyd (formerly of Bistro La Minette), who brings an exceptional menu tailored to cater to the diverse tastes of the city. Drawing inspiration from French cooking techniques he’s gleaned at his former positions, Grant has crafted a menu embodying the essence of a neighborhood steakhouse and boasting an inviting array of seasonal dishes that will please any palate.
The Morris is brought to you by the collaborative efforts of Beau Hu and Harvey Schmidt, esteemed owners of Morris House Hotel, and Kevin Liang. The ownership trio has joined forces with Kenneth (Kenny) Bush of Fringe Bar/Porter Hospitality and Chris Harrop as General Manager.
Chris, Kenny, and Grant have worked together at La Peg (now Fringe Bar), Bistrot la Minette, and Gabi (closed).
Operating hours are Wednesday, Thursday & Sunday 4-9; Friday & Saturday 4-10.
I’m putting my money on this will be a well-run operation, and I’m looking forward to visiting one day. If you go, please do let me know what you think.
If you like what I do, throw me a coffee or a stiff drink!
I’m a *REAL* person and your support means the world to me!
