Hangry Joe’s Nashville Hot Chicken Now Open in Old City

Hangry Joe’s is now open in Old City

Hangry Joe’s, a chain of Nashville hot chicken restaurants, has opened a franchise in Old City at 3rd and Market, the former location of Mamoun’s Falafel.

Hangry Joe’s specializes in hot chicken sandwiches, chicken wings, chicken fingers, chicken and waffles, Korean chicken nuggets, and more. Sides include waffle fries, cider slaw, and fried okra.

Spice levels include plain, mild, medium, hot, and “angry” hot (which requires a waiver). Something for everyone to enjoy, in case they cannot take the heat, but obviously very hot for those who seek the hottest foods.

This Hangry Joe’s location will also offer bubble tea, smoothies, and fruit teas, which might come in handy if the heat is too hot for you!

Vicky Lin is the local franchisee, and this is her first restaurant.

“I love the sandwiches and hot chicken trend,” Lin told Philly Grub.

Hot chicken has been trending for years and has been in Philly for a while, but it’s heating up recently. Asad’s Hot Chicken in the Northeast attracts heat-seeking folks from the region, and they are about to open a 2nd location in Bensalem. Dave’s Hot Chicken chain is also coming this year.

So far, this is the only Hangry Joe’s slated for Pennsylvania, but a few will be opening in New Jersey.

The grand opening date is Friday, February 24th.
