Philadelphia’s Chef Jose Garces has officially joined CookUnity, the Brooklyn-based company that introduced the first direct Chef-to-Consumer meal subscription platform.
CookUnity customers can now receive and enjoy restaurant-quality ready-to-eat meals prepared by Chef Garces and his team for an everyday elevated in-home dining experience.
Weekly subscriptions, starting at $10.49 per meal, allow customers to try Chef Garces’ food alongside meals from some of the nation’s other top chefs such as Jean-Georges Vongerichte, Marc Forgione, and more.
I sampled a few of these meals and I was quite impressed. The box was well packed with dry ice so it arrived cold. Each meal is easy to reheat – with instructions for the oven or microwave. The meals also come in eco-friendly packaging with an ingredient list and nutritional information on the label. A suggested “use by” date is listed to give you an idea of the refrigerated shelf life. Since the meals are fresh with no preservatives, most last from 4 or 7 days.
All three of Chef Garces’ meals were quite delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed them. Each meal was thoughtful, well seasoned, and cooked perfectly. I also sampled meals by Esther Choi and Einat Admony which were scrumptious as well.
Absolutely well worth the money and more affordable than a meal at a restaurant! I love the convenience of these high-quality meal services. The menu rotates from week to week so you won’t get bored with the selection. You can choose from 4, 6, 8, 12, or 16 meals per week, depending on your needs. You can edit, switch, or skip your subscription plan any time and delivery is free! There are meals for every diet and preference, too.
If you’re looking for chef-driven, restaurant-quality meals at home, I suggest trying CookUnity.
