New Year, New You!
Have you resolved to eat better or drop a few pounds? We know how difficult that can be especially if you’re a foodie who likes to dine out a lot. So, in an effort to help keep you (and us!) on track, we reached out to several area restaurants to see if they’re offering anything new for New Year’s diet resolvers or simply highlight healthier options that exist on their current menus. We’ll spotlight lighter fare throughout the month of January in our very tongue-in-cheek series “Skinny Grub.”
Listen, I know as a true foodie, I’ll never be skinny. Never have been, never will be. Dieting sucks. But there are still sensible and delicious choices that can be made at Philadelphia area restaurants that can accommodate a healthier lifestyle. Eating out doesn’t have to be a chore when you’re watching what you eat. I’m happy to do this research for you (and me!) so we can make better choices.
The first spotlight in this series is on Liberté Lounge in the Sofitel Philadelphia Hotel located at 120 South 17th Street in Rittenhouse Square. They offer a few selections of lower calorie dishes on the “De-Light” portion of the menu (pictured below; links to full-menu PDF).
Lighter options sure to “de-light” include: Artichoke Soup (185 calories), Beet Salad (165 calories), Seared Salmon (290 calories), and Amish Chicken (250 calories).
Liberté also has a cozy fireplace, so it’s a great place to warm up on a cold day and enjoy a (“skinny”) cocktail too. Go on, have one. You deserve it! But only one. Remember your goal. 😛
Stay tuned for more!
Know of other great restaurants that serve “skinnier” grub or healthy dishes? Let us know and we’ll post about it!
Also, don’t hesitate to let us know how you’re doing on your (diet) resolutions! We’re here for you. 😉
