MilkBoy partners Bill Hanson, Tommy Joyner and Jamie Lokoff announced the second location of the wildly popular restaurant, bar and live music venue, MilkBoy South Street, will open Tuesday, August 2 on the corner of 4th and South streets.
MilkBoy South Street is the first off shoot of the Chestnut Street original location and similarly features large glass garage-style doors on the first floor, opening its 12-seat first-floor bar to the lively street scene outside. Additional features on the first floor include table service and a separate entrance for take out orders. Outdoor seating will be added later.
Upstairs, MilkBoy’s second floor features an expansive oak and walnut bar with 24 stools. Creative custom tables can be flipped down to allow more standing room when needed. Additional tables offer views of the bustling corner below as well as an area for live music.
Chef is Chris Beyer, overseeing kitchens at both locations with menus of amped and elevated bar fare. Beyer comes to MilkBoy from the Garces group. A musician who has played in many bands, Beyer says his role at MilkBoy fuses his two passions of food and music. General Manager is Evan Maffiore. An advanced cocktail program is accompanied by an accomplished selection of draft and canned beer with six draft lines {one nitro} and all Pennsylvanian.
MilkBoy South Street was the longtime home of iconic Lickety Split. MilkBoy South Street will be open seven days a week, from 11AM – 2AM at 401 South Street.

Sadly the owners are literally thumbing their nose at the neighborhood and other south street merchants but placing two large overflowing dumpsters in from of the building RIGHT NEXT to the Take out entrance and BLOCKING access to the ADA ramp. They have snubbed requests from the South Street District and the City is ignoring the complaints from HUNDREDS of neighbors. and this has been going on since opening day. What could have been a great acoustic music venue and a go to neighborhood place has turned out to be the ugliest (and most unhealthful) spot in the 23 blocks of South street.
