This just in — amazing, delicious news!
Beginning this Friday, July 8 through this Sunday, July 10, Chef Marcie Turney and Valerie Safran will bring back their wildly popular Frozen Budino Pops to Midtown Village.
The pops will be available Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday from 12 noon to 6 p.m. at the Marcie Blaine Chocolate counter in Verde (108 South 13th Street), for $5 each.
The pops are a seasonal twist on Chef Turney’s budino, a salted caramel pudding dessert offered at Barbuzzo, the duo’s Mediterranean kitchen and bar, which became an instant classic receiving high acclaim from Bon Appetit, The Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Magazine.
For the Frozen Budino Pops, Chef Turney wraps a core of salted caramel and dark chocolate cookie crumbs with frozen caramel pudding then hand-dips it in dark chocolate and sprinkles a few grains of Maldon sea salt on top. Each comes on a popsicle stick and makes for a perfect summertime treat.
For more information about the Frozen Budino Pops, please call Verde at (215) 546-8700. Fans of the frozen dessert are encouraged to use the hashtag #BudinoPop, as well as to follow Chef Turney on Twitter and Instagram (@MarcieTurney) and Valerie Safran on Twitter and Instagram (@ValerieSafran).
