Manayunk-based cake shop, Sweet Elizabeth’s Cakes, has created a duo of cupcakes they’re calling “The Immaculate Confections” to jump on the marketing bandwagon… err to celebrate the arrival of Pope Francis to the City of Brotherly Love in September.
Starting on Friday, September 18th, you can either walk-in to Sweet Elizabeth’s to purchase or pre-order and pickup. They will be $8.50 for the pair.

Celebrate The Arrival of Pope Francis to Philadelphia with Cupcakes by Sweet Elizabeth’s of Manayunk.
- “The Saint” (a vanilla pound cake with vanilla buttercream, garnished with a gold cross and a gold-accented Mitre (pope hat)-crafted out of fondant)
- “The Sinner” (a red wine cupcakes with red wine buttercream and garnished with a fondant ‘eucharist’ and silver Chalise).
They sound absolutely… divine. 🙂
FYI – Sweet Elizabeth’s creates everything from scratch, on site, and only uses butter in its Italian Meringue Buttercreams and cakes. They refrain from shortenings, hydrogenated oils, and high fructose corn syrups and instead only use European butter, Madagascar Vanilla Beans, and many other top notch and local ingredients.
