A longtime Bensalem favorite is entering a new era. Bagelocity & the Soup King Cafe, located at 5611 Bensalem Blvd in Bensalem, is now under new ownership as of Monday, May 18th, and will gradually transition into the second location of Dad’s Deli from Marlton, NJ.
The new owners, Matt and Lauren Fein, are bringing the popular Dad’s Deli to the beloved Bucks County bagel shop while also preserving many of the staples that made Bagelocity an institution for more than 13 years. Customers can expect Dad’s signature deli offerings, along with the cafe’s beloved bagel selection and homemade soups, and catering is also planned as part of the expansion.
In a statement shared first with Philly Grub, Matt and Lauren Fein said, “Over time, we will add the Dad’s Deli menu and keep what has been great at Bagelocity, like the bagel variety and soups.”
The move carries a personal connection for the Fein family. Matt’s uncle, Alan Fein — known to many locals as the “Original Soup King” — previously owned Bagelocity and has now stepped back in to oversee day-to-day operations during the transition period. His involvement brings the story full circle, reconnecting the business with one of the figures most associated with its longtime success.
Alan Fein emphasized that the immediate priority is to maintain consistency for customers, employees, and the surrounding community as the rebrand takes shape. Over the years, Bagelocity & the Soup King Cafe has built a strong local reputation through its support of schools, fundraising initiatives, and community organizations throughout Bensalem.
The ownership team says customers can continue to expect the homemade soups, salads, and comfort-food favorites the cafe has long been known for, while gradually seeing more of the Dad’s Deli menu introduced.
The transition will truly be a family affair, with Matt’s younger brother Maguire also joining in to help with daily operations.
The news marks a milestone for Dad’s Deli, which has developed a loyal following in Marlton for its oversized sandwiches, deli specialties, and Mom-and-Pop atmosphere. For Bensalem diners, it also means a familiar business will remain active while evolving into something new without losing the elements that made it popular in the first place.
Matt Fein has a long history in restaurants and hospitality, having worked for Zahav, Federal Donuts, and The Borscht Belt.
Hours for Bagelocity and The Soup King Cafe are 6 am to 3pm Monday through Friday, and 7 am to 2 pm Saturday and Sunday.
